RockFish
With over 20 species of rockfish available, and lingcod, the central coast offers a wide variety of these fun-to-catch and delicious-to-eat fish!
Shallow water
Live bait for halibut and other shallow water fishes when available.
Albacore / Tuna
Typically accessible in the fall, albacore is a seasonal fishery. Trips are subject to availability.

    • Whale Watching

    The Flying Fish can be chartered to take your group out whale watching, departing from Avila Beach or Morro Bay. Seeing a whale in its natural habitat, up close and personal, is an incredible experience—one sure to be enjoyed by children as well as adults. Great for family trips, work outings, or just a special day, whale watches and nature cruises are a comfortable and great way to spend the day on the Flying Fish.

    Capacity for whale watch charters is 25 people.

    Whale Watch Charter Length/Fee: $1200 for a 3 hour trip.


    Burial at Sea

    We understand the sensitive and personal nature of burial at sea. Captain Wayne has taken out many trips for families to care for their loved ones. Email wayne@flyingfishsportfishing.com for special requests/information.

    Capacity for Burial at Sea is 24 people.
